This 12″ x 12″ miniature quilt has captured a lot of imaginations since its release in September 2010. And now, almost a decade later, we’re celebrating this fun project with a 4-week quilt along!

What to Expect
This quilt along features step-by-step tutorials each week, inspiration from ten years of Dancing Ribbons projects, and a community of quilters coming together to make this project.
This is an intermediate project which features foundation paper piecing, curved piecing, and applique techniques. We will have helpful guides at each step to help you with the different techniques.
We’ll also have tips and inspiration along the way for choosing fabrics, making design choices, and ways to use the Dancing Ribbons project beyond as a mini quilt.

We’ll go into fabric requirements in more detail next week. Until then, here’s a suggested supplies list of what else you’ll need to make Dancing Ribbons.

I had taken this pattern out of my “someday I’m going to try this folder“ and set it out on my counter
What a nice surprise to open the newsletter and see it as a project to work on thru AQS
I am looking forward to all Instructive suggestions and help in this quilt along
I’d love to do the silk but probably will do cotton
I wish there was a line drawing of the Dancing Ribbons quilt so we could play with different colorings.
There will be some great help and extra resources for that next week!
*When* next week? Is there a set time/day, or can the weekly instruction be accessed anytime during the week? I, too, have had this pattern for years, I have never used it. Excited to have the incentive (weekly help) to do this! ❤️
The weekly posts will be up by Wednesday morning each week and available forever afterwards. Thanks for your excitement, I’m excited, too! -Emily
