Download English Paper Piecing Templates.
- Print 4 of template B.
- Print 10 of template A.
Instructions:
From the dark sky fabric, cut 8 template A pieces.
From the dark butter fabric, cut 4 template B pieces and 2 template A pieces.
Using the assembly diagram below, English paper piece the block together in three sections. Sew the three sections together.

Is the fabric requirement for the corners needed to make this hexagon a square missing or am I just not seeing it?
Thanks for the question, Susan! If you’re making the 50 States Quilt (http://old.aqsblog.com/quilt-usa-aqs-summer-quilt-along) cut a 13″ background square, applique the hexagon blocks onto the background square, and then trim to 12 1/2″ square to turn the hexagon blocks into squares.
