Download English Paper Piecing templates, Foundation Paper Piecing patterns, and applique templates.
- Print 1 copy of pattern A.
- Print 2 copies of pattern B.
- Print 2 copies of pattern C.
- Print 2 copies of pattern D.
- Print 2 copies of pattern E.
- Print 1 copy of template F.
- Print 1 copy of template G.
- Print 4 copies of template H.
- Print 4 copies of template I.
- Print 4 copies of template J.
- Print 4 copies of template K.
Instructions:
Star Unit
From the dark butter fabric, cut 4 from template K.
From the light yellow fabric, cut 4 from template J.
From the dark blue fabric, cut 4 from template H.
From the coral fabric, cut 4 from template I.
English paper piece the star unit using templates H, I, J, K.
Triangle Stripe Units
Complete the paper piecing Triangle Stripe Units B, C, D, E.
From the white fabric, cut:
- (2) 2″ x 8″ rectangles
- (1) 2″ x 2″ square
From the light yellow fabric, cut:
- (2) 1 1/2″ x 8″ rectangles
- (2) 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles
Sew a D unit and a B unit to the long sides of a 1 1/2″ x 8″ light yellow rectangle. Make 2.
Sew a C unit and an E unit to the long sides of a 1 1/2″ x 2″ light yellow rectangle. Make 2.
Applique Unit
Complete paper piecing unit A.
From the white fabric, cut a 8″ x 8″ square.
From the light yellow, cut template G.
From the dark blue fabric, cut template F.
Applique unit A onto the white square.
Applique G onto the applique unit.
Applique F onto the applique unit.
Block Assembly:
Arrange the units as shown in the block assembly diagram below and sew into a block.
Block measures 12 1/2″ unfinished.

My Grandmother this started this bed size quilt in 1938 and completed it in 1942 by hand in red white and blue. It was passed down to me by my Uncle. It has never been used and is in pristine condition. It is a family treasure.
