Color 1: (8) 2½” x 4½” rectangles
Color 2: (8) 2½” squares
Color 3: (4) 2½” squares
Color 4: (4) 2½” squares
Color 5: (8) 2½” squares
Color 6: (8) 2½” squares
Background: (16) 2½” squares
Construction
Connect a 2½” x 2½” square of Color 2 to one end of 4 – 2½” x 4½” rectangles of Color 1 paying attention to the direction of the connector. Join these units to the remaining 4 – 2½” x 4½”
rectangles of Color 1, again paying attention to the orientation.
Connect 2 – 2½” x 2½” background squares to the end opposite the color 2 connector on each side of the 4 units.
Make 4 HSTs using 4 – 2½” x 2½” squares of Color 2 and 4 – 2½” x 2½” squares of Color 3. Join them to create the center pinwheel unit.
Make 4 HSTs using the 2½” x 2½” squares of Color 5 and 4 – 2½” x 2½” squares of Color 6.
Make 4 HSTs using the 2½” x 2½” squares of Color 5 and 4 – 2½” x 2½” background squares.
Make 4 HSTs using the 2½” x 2½” squares of Color 6 and 4 – 2½” x 2½” background squares.
Join these units together to make the side/center units.
Referring to the assembly diagram, make 4 four-patch units with the HSTs and the 2½” x 2½” squares of Color 4.
Referring to the assembly diagram, create your block.
