Paducah, Kentucky will experience 100% eclipse totality in a couple weeks. The excitement is building all over town. To share the excitement we designed Kentucky Wonder. As the pattern sat on my desk waiting to be colored, different people would visit my office and offer suggestions. It’s incredible to work with such talented people! Lynda Smith came up with this striking coloring – such a beauty! Try it our way or color your own.

Are there instructions for this pattern?
Hi Susan, Click on the image of the quilt or the words, “Download Kentucky Wonder” to access the pattern. Please let me know if this doesn’t work for you. Thanks, Betsey
Just reading through the cutting and the instructions. For the cutting instructions…you are to cut 3″x 3″ squares, but in the instructions, they are listed as 3-1/2″ squares. Am I reading this incorrectly, or is there a mistake in the cutting instructions?
Hi Deb, 3 1/2″ is correct. The pattern is corrected. Thanks, Betsey
Beaustiful quilt pattern, and downloaded to add to the list of someday to make. Even know who I would make it for.
Please double check the measurements for cutting the charcoal fabric. Looks like the last cut should read 7 Inches by 621/2 inches instead of 1 1/2 inches by 62 1/2 inches.
Hi Carla, The pattern has been updated. Thanks for noticing! Thanks, Betsey
Hi, I LOVE this…I’ve been looking for a really neat, and different big block quilt to make and this is it! When I downloaded the pattern, it still has the “incorrect” cutting measurements that were mentioned above. I just want to make sure that I have the corrected instructions. Can you help?
Hi Julie, I’ve renamed the file and reloaded. The correct file will have the word ‘corrected’ at the end. Thanks! Betsey
Hello!
Regarding the charcoal squares – are the four corner squares 16 in or 15 1/2 in piece squares?
– what are the dimensions of the four squares (to be cut into eight triangles) for
Outer Blocks A & B, “inside” the triangle blue blocks (That’s assuming the 8
1/2 in squares are used for Inner Blocks A & B).
Thank you!
Hi Robbi, You raise some good questions! I’ve addressed your questions in the pattern and reloaded it. Hopefully it makes things clearer. Thank you for the great questions! Betsey
Is it possible to post a picture of my version of Kentucky Wonder? I tried copy/paste of the pic, but this text box doesn’t allow me to paste the pic.
Thanks for your help.
Hi Robbi, You can email it to me at betsey.langford@americanquilter.com or you can post it on our Facebook Group. Either way will get it posted to the blog. Thanks, Betsey
