“What a pleasure it is to share these special patterns with you. They were found in my great-grandmother Frances Jane Waddell’s trunk years after she passed. They were sent to me as a gift, packaged inside the original envelope in which they were mailed. My great-grandmother had ordered them through the Charlotte Observer newspaper in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Later, I received her eye glasses from an uncle. They showed signs of repair by my great-granddad. These treasures were important to him and now to me. I have enjoyed making and designing these quilts. My hope is you find them as special as I do.” – Anne Dutton in Vintage Quilting Treasures 1930s Revisited
Is there any way you could send me the dimensions of the block and template s? I don’t have a printer or PC, just cell phone, but would so love to make these! Let me know please. Thanks in advance.
