Cutting Instructions
From the cream fabric, cut:
(2) 3” x 3”
(1) 1 ½” x 19”
(1) 1 ½” x 4
From the tan fabric, cut:
(2) 3” x 3”
(1) 1 ½” x 19”
(1) 1 ½” x 4”
From the orange fabric, cut:
(2) 1 ½” x 4”
From the teal fabric, cut:
(4) 1 ½” x 2 ½”
Unit Assembly
Half Square Triangle (HST)
Mark the wrong side of the cream 3” squares in half diagonally once. Lay a marked cream square over a tan 3” square, right sides together. Sew a quarter inch from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line. Trim unit to 2 ½” square.
Long Rail Unit
Sew together the tan 1 ½” x 19” rectangle and cream 1 ½” x 19” rectangle along the long side. Press towards the tan.
Cut (4) 4 ½” sections from the strip set.
Half Rail Unit
Sew together the cream and orange 1 ½” x 4” rectangle along the long side. Press towards the cream.
Cut (2) 1 ½” sections from the strip set. Sew a teal 1 ½” x 2 ½” rectangle to the side of the pair as shown. Half Rail unit measures 2 ½” square. Make 2.
Repeat the process to make 2 orange/tan/teal Half Rail units.
Block Assembly
Use the block diagram below to layout the block into rows.
Sew the units into rows.
Sew the rows together to complete the block.
Block measures 8 ½” x 8 ½” unfinished.
