Cutting Instructions
From the cream fabric, cut:
(4) 3” x 3”
(8) 2 ½” x 2 ½”
From the tan fabric, cut:
(1) 5 ½” x 5 ½”
From the orange fabric, cut:
(2) 2 ½” x 4 ½”
From the teal fabric, cut:
(2) 2 ½” x 4 ½”
Unit Assembly
Teal and Orange Flying Geese Geese
Mark the wrong side of a cream 2 ½” square in half diagonally once. Lay a marked square right sides together with an orange 2 ½” x 4 1⁄2” rectangle, oriented as shown below. Sew on the marked line. Trim excess a quarter inch from the sewn line and press. Repeat on the other side with another marked cream 2 ½” square. Make 2. Flying Geese unit measures 2 ½” x 4 1⁄2” unfinished.
Repeat process on cream 2 ½” squares and teal 2 ½” x 4 ½” rectangles. Make 2.
No-Waste Tan Flying Geese

Using the No-Waste Flying Geese method mark four cream 3” squares in half diagonally once. Lay two cream marked squares over a tan 5 1/2″ square in diagonally opposite corners. Sew a quarter inch from the marked line on both sides. Cut apart and press.
Lay a marked cream square over the corner of the tan triangle. Sew a quarter inch from each side of the marked line. Cut apart and press. Repeat with the other tan triangle.
Trim Flying Geese to 2 ½” x 4 ½” rectangle. (Click Here for a video demonstrating how to trim Flying Geese.) Make 4 tan/cream Flying Geese.
Block Assembly
Sew a tan/cream Flying Geese unit to the top of the teal/cream Flying Geese unit as shown below. Make 2. Unit measures 4 ½” square.
Repeat with tan/cream Flying Geese and orange/cream Flying Geese. Make 2.
Use the block diagram below to layout the block into rows.
Sew the units into rows.
Sew the rows together to complete the block.
Block measures 8 ½” x 8 ½” unfinished.
