Bricks – you can stack them, build with them, and best of all, create with them! This versatile bricks quilt design begins with a very easy pattern and ends with a quilt that is just your style. It can be scrappy or coordinated, boldly bright or sweetly delicate.
You’ll notice that it has a basic block design which can be alternated 90 degrees. Take that idea a step further, and make the blocks going one way from lighter tones, and the other direction, darker, for a woven effect. It’s appropriate for quilters of all skill levels – what a great pattern choice for a group quilting retreat or weekend project!
Cut the rectangles and squares from your stash in as many colors as you please, or use it as the perfect excuse to stop by your local quilt shop for just two jelly rolls (plus some backing and batting, of course) in any colorways that suit your mood. Fall batiks? Quick Christmas quilt? Or adapt the pattern to make a colorfully quick table runner. The choices are unlimited!
