Cutting instructions:
From the white fabric, cut:
(4) 2” x 2” squares
(12) 1 5/8” x 1 5/8” squares
(1) 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” square
From the red fabric, cut:
(2) 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” squares
From the black fabric, cut:
(1) 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” square
Assembly:
Flying Geese
Mark twelve white 1 5/8″ squares in half diagonally once. Lay two white marked squares over a red 2 1/2″ square in diagonally opposite corners. Sew a quarter inch from the marked line on both sides. Cut apart and press.
Lay a marked white square over the corner of the red triangle. Sew a quarter inch from the marked line on both sides. Cut apart and press. Repeat with the other red triangle. Trim Flying Geese to 1″ x 1 1/2″ rectangle. Make 8 red and white Flying Geese.
Repeat Flying Geese instructions with a black 2 1/2″ square to make 4 black and white Flying Geese.
Sew a red/white Flying Geese to the top and bottom of a black/white Flying Geese in a stack. Make 4.
Block Assembly
Sew two of the Flying Geese stacks on the left and right side of the white 1 1/2″ square, press to the square.
Sew a white 2″ square to the left and right side of a Flying Geese stack, press to the squares. Make 2.
Sew the rows together. Block measures 4 1/2″ unfinished.
Measures 4 1/2” square unfinished.
