Cutting Instructions
From the red fabric, cut:
(12) 1½” x 1½”
From the green fabric, cut:
(1) 2½” x 2½”
(8) 1½” x 1½”
From the cream fabric, cut:
(4) 2½” x 2½”
(12) 1½” x 2½”
(8) 1½” x 1½”
Unit Assembly
Flying Geese
Mark the wrong side of two green 1½” squares in half diagonally once. Lay a marked square right sides together with a cream 1½” x 2½” rectangle, oriented as shown below. Sew on the marked line. Trim excess a quarter inch from the sewn line and press.
Repeat on the other side with another marked green 1½” square. Make 4 Flying Geese units.
Four-Patch Unit
Sew a cream 1½” square to a red 1½” square. Press towards the red. Make 2 pairs.
Sew the pairs together as shown above to make a red/cream Four-Patch. Make 4 units.
Block Assembly
Use the block diagram above to lay the block out into five rows. Sew the units into rows.
Sew the rows together to complete the block.
Block measures 8½” x 8½” unfinished.
