The National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011. This video from the American Quilters Society shows how the museum got its start 20 years ago.
The museum was originally named the Museum of the American Quilters Society. In 2008, Congress designated the museum as The National Quilt Museum of the United States. Today, NQM attracts approximately 40,000 visitors annually from nearly every state and 50 countries.
