Cutting Instructions:
From the white fabric, cut:
(8) 2” x 2” squares
From the red fabric, cut:
(6) 2” x 2” squares
From the black fabric, cut:
(2) 2” x 2” squares
Assembly:
Pinwheel Unit
Mark the wrong side of the white 2″ squares in half diagonally once. Lay a marked white square over a red 2″ square, right sides together. Sew a quarter inch from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line and press towards the red.
Trim each Half Square Triangle to 1 1/2″ square. Make 12.
Repeat to make 4 white and black Half Square Triangles.
Using three white/red and one white/black Half Square Triangles, arrange them to make a Pinwheel as shown below. Sew together into two rows. Sew the rows together to complete the Pinwheel unit.
Unit measures 2 1/2″ square. Make 4.
Block Assembly
Using the four Pinwheel units, lay them in rows using the block image as a guide. Sew together into two rows. Sew the rows together to complete the block.
Block measures 4 1/2″ square unfinished.
